The editorial director leads a team of talented writers and editors, and works closely with the account management team along with our design team to define smart strategies, create flexible marketing initiatives, advance our clients' SEO strategies, write compelling copy, and edit and shape other writers’ text. The editorial director is versatile and able to conceptualize, edit, and write for a broad range of projects across a variety of channels and platforms - from using CMS systems to making sure we are using the correct AP style in our press releases; from writing advertorials, to editing web copy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
-Plan, write, edit and proof content for a range of channels including websites, press releases, blogs, emails, and more.
-Develop, maintain and champion the editorial and social media teams. Set and manage the editorial processes throughout the organization.
-Interact with clients on a regular basis and ensure all expectations are being met.
-Ensure priorities are set, accurate, and communicated.
-Set editorial direction, including editorial calendar.
-Manage the team of writers and editors. Assign projects and oversee work to ensure accurate and compelling content, ensuring a key focus on marketing goals.
Experience in the fields of PR and advertising is a plus, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with clients to manage their expectations. We need someone who has experience managing a team of content writers and social media analysts and who is always looking for ways to evolve our approach in order to produce the best possible product, but who also excels in a team atmosphere.
